Building Eclipse Intensity - Today's Astrology Chart and Forecast
Today’s chart has big oppositions forming. We see the astrological oppositions playing out in real life, as well.
The Sun, Mercury and Mars, all in Scorpio, are marching forward. As they do, they begin to oppose Jupiter in Taurus. Jupiter is in retrograde. Three planets, in a Mars ruled sign, in opposition to Jupiter, is often a significator of battle. This opposition brings confidence to charge in and get what you want. Mars opposite Jupiter, specifically, brings on this type of bravado. With Jupiter retrograde, and Mercury and the Sun joining this opposition, we should see power plays to do harm to the likes of which we’ve never seen.
To add to the war-like energy, not only do we have 3 planets in Scorpio, which is ruled by Mars, we now have the Moon in Aries. The Moon entered Mars’ other rulership placement of Aries at 6:02am.
Yesterday we discussed how the Moon is void of course, if you are only using the traditional 7 planets. Many astrologers consider the void of course to continue through the next 2 days until the eclipse on Saturday. However, the Moon’s ingress into Aries breaks up the 3-day void of course. If you also consider the Moon’s minor aspects, as well as the outer planets (Neptune, Pluto and Uranus), we have plenty of power fueling today and tomorrow.
Looking at the news, we see the Void of Course term “nothing GOOD will come of it” playing out. However, like I mentioned yesterday, the outer planets do have an impact on us when in aspect to the Moon. Clearly, big events took place. Most of them were not good: a massive CAT 5 surprise hurricane in Mexico, a new speaker of the house who wants to fund the war, a mass shooting, and more.
The Void of Course Moon is not stopping the eclipse energy from bringing major events to us. The building Jupiter opposition is bringing on the heavy forces, as well. Those that go after what they want will make headlines this week.
In your life, watch out for people making bold power moves. It is all about territory, with Jupiter in Taurus, which rules land, and the Lunar eclipse dealing with home and hearth being eclipsed. Prayers go out to anyone dealing with custody issues. These aspects would denote a messy fight.
While it might feel frightening to behold, there is one blessing to consider in the Jupiter opposition: self undoing. Those that stretch too far past their territory and take big risks stand a chance of losing it all.
Keep in mind the balance that must be had in astrology, and in life. This week may be a very Mars-like day full of action and intensity, but watch for overly aggressive actions to backfire, too.
Be aware we are in a pre-eclipse phase. Emotions are high, many changes are happening, and the malefic energy is causing chaos right now. Do what you can to take care of yourself and others. Once the eclipse hits on Saturday afternoon and the dust settles, we can see more clearly the moves and countermoves we need to make.
Today’s minor Moon aspects to help us strategize our day:
Sun Quincunx transit Moon at 10:51 a.m. — Tension and discord makes it hard to find an inner balance and peace. Practice ways to handle the pressure.
Moon Quincunx transit Mercury at 6:36 p.m. — Quick minds and fast tongues. Be careful of gossip. Pay attention to the patterns you notice. Helpful and genius information breaks through the noise.
Venus Quincunx transit Chiron at 9:11 p.m. — Try to find the beauty among the struggle. See the beauty in your battle scars. Heal the old wounds, get past the pain, so you can give and receive true love.
Moon Quincunx transit Mars at 10:49 p.m. — Be aware—fights at home are possible. People feel irritated, powerless and restricted. Tempers can lash out. Pay attention to how others are feeling. Stay away from dangerous people.
Tomorrow is another Moon off course day as we prepare for the eclipse on Saturday. We will see the moon make minor aspects, and she will interact with Chiron and the Lunar nodes. Emotions continue to build, and storylines take shape.
Remember, eclipse events often take place a week or two before and after the eclipse moment. Lunar eclipse events can reverberate for up to 6 months.
Pay attention to your surroundings. This Lunar eclipse ramps up sensitivities. The Mars fighting energy, the slew of awkward quincunxes, and the building Jupiter opposition is a tough mix. This can result in people taking wild, over confident actions.
Play it safe. Check on those you know who may be in tough domestic situations.
Blessings,
Clara
