This weekend we are in a Balsamic Moon phase. This is a quiet, transitionary time as the moon darkens. Letting go of the old, before entering into a new moon cycle, happens every month. The moon is in Cancer, providing a “welcome home” feeling. Resting is good. Physical energy is low, but intuitive powers are high. Take some time to contemplate transitions in your life. Next week, Wednesday August 16, we will have a new moon in Leo—a place to plant new seeds of growth.
The Leo Sun makes it’s trine to Chiron in Aries today. This transit happens twice a year. The Sun shines a light on the wounds of Chiron. Time for healing. Often, people deal with wounds related to their father when the Sun aspects Chiron. With Leo and Aries here, there could also be themes of children, independence and romantic attachments as we work through Venus’ retrograde during this year’s transit. Look to where Leo/Aquarius and Aries/Libra are in your chart for a deeper insight on how this may affect you.
It’s possible there is some dissolution going on as we realize the groups we are associated with, or the places we belong to, are a source of loss in some way. Coming to terms with reality is hard. Neptune, the planet of illusion and deception, is making a quincunx to the South Node in Libra. Be open to things not being how you’d like. There is still good to be seen. Be open to letting go of the things that no longer fit.
Talking things out during this healing weekend is supported this evening around 6:29pm. The Moon is in sextile to Mercury in Cancer. A heart to heart talk feels good during dinner time.
If you are up past 11pm EST, the mood lifts. Optimism enters with the Cancer Moon in Sextile to Jupiter in Taurus. A perfect time for a midnight snack and positive visions of the future.
Be sure to look up—the “Tears of St. Lawrence” Meteor shower should be at it’s peak late this evening into the early morning hours.
